| Manitou This historic treasure was named after the "Algonquin" word for "Great Spirit". The Ute Indians visited this area regularly to worship the Great Spirit Manitou. Situated at the base of "Pikes Peak" this little tourist Mecca has awesome views of surrounding mountains and the city lights of Colorado Springs.
